What it really costs: Porsche 992 GT3 Touring

The GT3 Touring is the quiet 911: the same naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six as the winged GT3, 503bhp and a 9,000rpm limit, but with a discreet retracting spoiler in place of the wing. It comes with a six-speed manual or PDK at the same price. It is also one of the few modern cars whose used prices have run ahead of what it cost new, which makes the arithmetic unusual.

New against used

Porsche's own UK site currently starts the 911 GT3 with Touring Package from £159,700, manual or PDK. Options climb quickly: the Lightweight Package alone is £29,223 on Porsche's UK configurator. For context, PistonHeads notes the first 992 GT3 Touring started at £128,000 in 2021.

On the used side, Autotrader listed 48 992 GT3 Tourings in October 2026, with asking prices from £155,995 to £217,895. Tom Hartley was asking £159,950 for a 2022 PDK car with 6,000 miles. At auction, a 2022 PDK car with 5,395 miles sold on Collecting Cars for £149,500 in August 2026.

The yearly bills

Servicing is modest by supercar standards. Precision Porsche, an independent specialist in Sussex, charges £535 plus VAT for the minor service, due every two years or 20,000 miles, and £771 plus VAT for the major service every four years or 40,000 miles. RPM Technik quotes from £522 and from £1,100 respectively, plus VAT, and recommends extra oil changes for cars that see track days.

Depreciation is where the GT3 Touring parts company with most cars. A 2022 car that started at £128,000 new is still asking around £160,000 four years on. Marque's UK data for the 992 GT3, which does not separate the Touring, puts the market value at about £148,000, down 2.6% over twelve months. Its estimated annual costs are £1,200 for agreed-value insurance, £2,400 for maintenance, £2,400 for storage and £8,900 for depreciation. Treat those as estimates; your own insurance quote will depend on you, your postcode and your garage.

Verdict

The GT3 Touring is the rare car that has cost its early owners very little to keep. That is not a promise for the future, and generous options lists rarely come back at resale. For a buyer who simply wants to drive one, a used 992.1 now asks roughly what a new car lists for, without the wait. If you want a week with one rather than a lifetime, there is a simpler route.
